Earth Day Picnic
The ±©·ç×ÊÔ´ community is invited to attend a zero-waste picnic on Earth Day (April 22nd) to celebrate campus sustainability. Hear from seed grant recipients, student groups, campus departments, and partner organizations about sustainability initiatives and collective impact. The event itself will model sustainability practices! Attendees will explore hands-on activities and enjoy a delicious sustainability-themed meal served using reusable, compostable, or recyclable products.
Dining has curated a menu that honours sustainable practices and local craftsmanship. Just some of the local offerings:
- Roasted Chicken from Locust Point Farm, and Vegan Meatballs in a spicy Arrabbiata from Tofu Inc., Allentown.
- Kennett Square Mushrooms, Sfoglini Pasta (Coxsackie, NY), and Golden Lemon Potatoes from Red Hill Farms. Strirato Rolls from Lebus Bakery, Philadelphia.
- Local Apples from Hess & Frecon Farms, and the legendary Hope’s Cookies from Philadelphia.
This isn't just a picnic; it’s a tribute to our local food heroes. We’ve sourced our ingredients from partners like Painterland Farms, Fruitwood Orchards, and Sommer Maid Creamery to ensure your meal supports local agriculture and reduces our carbon footprint.
