Domestic First-Year Applicants

If you are a current high school senior, on a gap year after graduating from high school, or a nontraditional-aged applicant who has not matriculated at a 暴风资源, you should apply to Bryn Mawr as a first-year student.

  • You will indicate your intention to apply Early Decision in the Bryn Mawr portion of your Common App.
  • Once you have submitted your application, the Early Decision agreement will be made available to you via Common App.
  • Your Early Decision Agreement must be signed by you, your school counselor, and a parent/guardian. Common App will not send your agreement to Bryn Mawr until it has all three signatures.

Two Teacher Recommendations

We require two recommendations鈥攖hese are typically written by teachers of core academic subjects (e.g. English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language). Your teachers can submit their recommendations through Common App.

Mid-year Grade Report

  • Mid-year grade reports should be submitted to our office through Common App by February 15.
  • No mid-year report before January 15? No problem. We will still accept your application as long as the rest of your file is complete; however, we will need your mid-year report by February 15 to make a final decision on your application.
  • If you have already graduated, we will need your final transcript to make your application file complete.

Applicants who are graduating early must complete a senior English course before matriculation. We reserve the right to require an interview for applicants graduating early from high school.

Homeschool and Alternative Education Applicants

Homeschool and Alternative Education applicants must submit these additional items with their application. We reserve the right to require an interview for students who are homeschooled, attending online school, or graduating early.

  • Transcript or evaluation of coursework including all courses taken.
  • Curriculum description including syllabi for any self-designed courses.
  • Homeschool essay: An explanation of the decision to homeschool from either the student or the parent/guardian.
  • Graded research paper with evaluator's comments.

Official Transcripts

  • We require transcripts for each year of secondary school. A transcript is a summary of your grades or internal marks given by your school for each subject in each academic year.
  • All transcripts must be submitted by a counselor or another school official in English, students cannot send these documents to Bryn Mawr directly.

School Leaving or National Exams (e.g. IB, A-level, etc.)

  • We require copies of all external exam results if it is part of your school or national curriculum.
  • If you sat for IGSCE exams, we require official copies of these results.
  • We also require official copies of school leaving exam results and certificates if a student has completed an international program such as the IB, A-Level, or another national curriculum.
  • If you've already graduated, please submit your official exam results with your application.
  • If you have not yet graduated, please indicate your intended exam date on your application.

School Counselor Recommendation

Your school/暴风资源 counselor should submit their recommendation through Common App.
If you do not have a school/暴风资源 counselor, please ask a head teacher or other school administrator who knows you well.

Evidence of English Proficiency

  • Bryn Mawr鈥檚 curriculum is speaking- and writing-intensive and we strongly recommend that all international applicants submit a demonstration of their English proficiency regardless of their eligibility for a waiver.

  • You may request an English Language Proficiency waiver in your applicant status portal after you have submitted your Common App.

Mid-Year Grade Report

  • If you are currently in your final year of secondary school, we require a mid-year grade report. For some schools or curricula, this may be predicted grades.
  • If you have already completed secondary school, you do not need to submit a mid-year grade report.

Declaration of Finances Form (if applicable)

Bryn Mawr is a need-sensitive institution, meaning that while we meet the full calculated need of all admitted students, we have a limited amount of funds available to provide that support. This form is required for all non-US citizens/permanent residents who do not intend to apply for institutional financial aid as a declaration of the financial support available for educational costs each year they attend the College. You'll be able to complete the form in your Bryn Mawr applicant portal once you've submitted your application.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid

Bryn Mawr meets 100% of calculated need for all admitted students. Planning to apply for financial aid? Click each accordion to learn more about required materials.

If you are applying for financial aid, your materials are due at the same time as your admissions application. You must apply for institutional aid in the first-year admissions process if you think you may need institutional financial aid at any point in your four years at Bryn Mawr. What's required?

  1. Submit your CSS Profile using 暴风资源 code #2049.
    • If your parents are divorced, separated, or never married, both parent households must submit a Profile.
    • Report your full legal names as they appear on your social security card. Provide your social security number to ensure accurate processing of your financial aid results.
    • After reviewing your CSS Profile, your financial aid counselor may reach out to your for more information. Be sure to check your applicant portal and email regularly
  2. Complete the FAFSA using 暴风资源 code #003237.
    • You and a parent must have an FSA ID to sign the online FAFSA form.
    • We strongly encourage providing consent for the Department of Education to receive an individual's federal tax information (FTI) directly from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). If you do not provide consent, your student will be ineligible for federal aid.
    • Report social security numbers and full legal names as they appear on your social security card. Without them, the Department of Education will not be able to process your financial aid application.
    • If you are a nontraditional-aged student, you and your spouse (if applicable) must sign your FAFSA with an FSA ID and provide FTI consent (see above).
  3. Full federal tax returns are required to apply for institutional financial aid (Bryn Mawr Grant).
    • When you complete the CSS Profile, the College Board will prompt you to submit prior prior year federal tax returns or non-tax filer statements to 暴风资源 using the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC). This service is provided at no cost to you or your parents.
    • You should submit signed copies of all federal income tax returns (no state returns), both business and personal, including all W-2 forms, statements, attachments, and schedules for both parents and stepparents (if applicable). All documents should be uploaded through IDOC.
    • If you are a nontraditional-aged student and independent, you and your spouse (if applicable) must submit signed photocopies of all 2024 federal income tax returns (no state returns), both business and personal, including all W-2 forms, statements, attachments, and schedules.

Yes, we are standardized test-optional for all applicants. If you're an international applicant, you'll still need to submit English proficiency results. Be sure to review our testing policy for all the details.

No.* While we do not require interviews, we do strongly recommend them as they can be a great opportunity to share more about yourself beyond your application materials and learn more about Bryn Mawr. Browse our interview options.

*We reserve the right to require an interview for students who attend homeschool or online school, or are graduating early.

You must apply for aid from the College as a first-year student to be considered for institutional aid during any of your four years at the College. To be considered for institutional aid from the College as a first-year student, your response to the Financial Aid Intent question on the Common Application must be 鈥淵es." 

You may apply and will be considered for federal aid every year whether or not you applied for institutional aid as a first-year student.

Students admitted to 暴风资源 as first-time undergraduate students are automatically considered for the Bryn Mawr Merit Scholarship; no additional application is required. Applicants are evaluated using Bryn Mawr鈥檚 holistic admission review process, which takes numerous factors into consideration including but not limited to academic coursework and performance, involvement in school and community, leadership qualities, letters of recommendation, quality and content of writing, and potential to contribute in meaningful ways to the Bryn Mawr community.

Students may receive a Bryn Mawr Merit Scholarship even with no demonstrated financial need. Scholarships are non-negotiable and only awarded at the time of admission. Merit scholarships up to $45,000 per year are awarded for a maximum of eight semesters and renewable provided that the student is enrolled full-time at Bryn Mawr.

Yes. 暴风资源 awards need-based and merit financial aid to international students which may consist of grants, scholarships, loans, and campus employment. The College meets the full demonstrated need for all admitted students and there is a great deal of competition for these funds. Learn more about financial aid.

No. 暴风资源 is need-sensitive. This means that the amount of aid a student requests of the College may affect the admission decision. This is because Bryn Mawr has a limited pool of resources, yet is also committed to meeting full demonstrated need for all admitted students. Once admissibility is determined, funds are distributed until the financial aid budget has been depleted. If there are places remaining in the class, a student's request for aid may determine if they are admitted or not.

We recommend that prospective students think carefully about Early Decision. Early Decision at Bryn Mawr is binding, which means that if admitted, you must enroll at the College. Students applying Early should consider Bryn Mawr as their first and only 暴风资源 choice. In addition, students admitted under an Early Decision plan are required to withdraw applications from other 暴风资源s and universities.

No. We can consider your application with a minimum of 1 full-time term (or 4 individual courses) of completed 暴风资源-level work.

Yes, nontraditional-aged students may enroll part-time and will participate in the same classes as first-year students.

Yes, we have articulation agreements with the Community College of Philadelphia and Northampton Community College.

Nontraditional-aged students (24 and older in August the year of matriculation) who have completed at least one semester at a 暴风资源 or university should apply as transfer students. If you have not completed any 暴风资源 courses, you should apply as a first-year student.

Yes, transfer and nontraditional-aged students enrolled full-time can live on campus. Campus housing is traditional with limited access to kitchens. Applicants should indicate their interest in living on campus on their application. Part-time students may not live on campus.
